Had to google the reflector, never heard of such a gizmo; so is it just reflecting indoor lighting ? soft yellow (standard lights) or a studio light ? Looks effective, soft shadows, and seems to work as advertised.... BUT I just noticed this ... I see the reflectors in her eyes--not sure how to get those out, PS.

It was used to bounce light back from the Ranger. The color temp I think was 5700.... just a little on the warm side.

Have a look here to see how it can be used by others...

I saw this thread and the way Robert used the reflector is interesting. Adds an unusual touch to the resulting image, but I guess you have to be picky about when to use it.

I'm assuming you position it under the chin like an old-fashioned tanning device?

I wonder if distance from subject would affect the apparent softness/hardness of the reflections?

I needed to have it closer ... it wraps the light around the person...

Have a look at the Lastolite videos... useful tool in certain situations...

The Triflector is what it is listed as...

Very interesting affect, the lights showing in the eyes is the piece to master, maybe it will grow on me, but like TRM said some like it some don't, as long as the client does, that's what matters. Just something more to practice with... as if there weren't enough issues with lighting... DOH:rolleyes:

Nice work all! I like this last shot you posted... looking good!!

Here is one from last night...

Still not sure about the Lastolite Tri-lite reflector.... only the 2nd time I have seriously tried to use it... still on the fence about the catchlights...

What do you all think?

Hatch

That's a great shot Hatch. I like the catch lights. It's different. Different is good. :)

I think I need to clean the sensor on my 40D. I was out shooting the full moon today and got some bug in the shot:

Wow... the catch light the other guy did was pretty cool. I like how it's on the outer edges of the pupil.

Don't ever put "Shooting" and "Cat" in the same sentence with Jeremy...

(Nice Kitty...) Wicked sharp image.
