For birding, 5DM2 or 1Ds2?

I have used my Mk III and my 40D on the same lens, same day, birds in flight. The 40D won. MK III AF did not make any difference but the 1.3x vs 1.6x did. Now I have 50Ds. Get a 50D.

The 5D isn't fast enough....and you really want a crop factor to help you get the ultimate close-up shots. Your 40D should do a good job.

with the 5D MKII you could crop by 60% and still have a great photo
