I think I am going to do this with my desk, get a bunch (63 to be specific) of 4x6s and put them under the glass so the top is like a collage of my photos. However, the way I'm doing this is that when I get small orders through WHCC, I'm going to fill up the rest of the order (since min order is $12 of prints) with 4x6s. They are $.70 each which is kinda pricey but I'm ok with that so long as I can keep them for a while.

Now, when they are under the glass how would you suggest mounting them, and protecting them? I'd like to be able to use them again, either have them in condition to frame or transfer to a coffee table later instead of under the glass on my desk. I'm guessing that if the photos are under glass they should be kept pretty clean overall, kinda like a frame its just going to be squishing the photos more. I was thinking about mounting them with a piece of scotch tape on the back, but im not sure.

Also, on a related note, where would be a good place to print out 60 4x6s (all different files) if I chose to do that? I don't want to totally sacrifice quality, but I don't really want to pay a ton of cash.

I think if you're concerned about keeping the photos in good shape having them pressed right up against the glass is not a good idea in case they stick.

For this application I'd consider the prints basically "disposable" and go with one of the consumer oriented online labs, quality should be fine for this sort of thing and the prices are very low ($.09 for a 4x6 at Snapfish, whose results I preferred over Shutterfly). Most services will give you 20 or more free prints when you sign up if you want to compare results from a couple of labs...you could get the whole project done for under 10 bucks.

That's the answer I was looking for. Thanks... thats what I'm gonna do.
