I have shown parts of these mountains before over the years
in summer or spring.
this is the mid winter scene.
officially it's spring , but believe me it's mid winter

yesterday and today....high winds and heavy rain

stormy weather, but still beautiful.
I wouldn't change it for anything
maybe it looks bleak to some
but I never feel that when out there or in anything to do with nature

the mountains are not too far from here ( roughly.. about 16 miles )
this is turlough hill and the wicklow gap
not too big, like as in some countries , but not too small either

just perfect in many ways.
they sweep around the landscape for miles.
the ground can be soft and spongy (a lot) at times (peat..see notice)

there was low lying cloud and misty rain all day when I took the pictures
but sometimes that's what mountains are all about .
the weather really adds to the atmosphere

just posting a notice or two explaining about the reservoir showing
and how the land lies
(DUPLICATE IMAGE)

thanks
hope the pictures are not too large for some

That's incredible countryside Marie and very different from mine. Thank you for the story about the area. It was very interesting.

Great photos as well.

Thanks,

Kent County, New Brunswick, CANADA
has to be one of the world's best kept secret. It is bordered by the sea to the east and is made up of small villages, farms, forest, brooks and rivers. I have lived here all my life and
would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely photos, Marie. You're right about conveying the true feel of the weather, they do so perfectly. Thanks for the story, too.

Marie.
You're lucky (or maybe smart) to live in such a beautiful place. Our mountains are very different here, and they are never green (although this year there's a slight greenish tint to them after all the rain we've had---by March, they'll be brown again).

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

thank you so much Maz Sparker Jim Cyber Tom Conk and Mills

I admire each countries own beauty .any pictures which show what I love about this country just means I want to share it,
not that I prefer this country over any other... because I don't.

I love anywhere I go mostly
we take ourselves with ourselves everywhere
and wherever and whatever country I am in at a certain time of my life I am there fully.
even if I was living elsewhere I don't think I would miss anything I left behind
beauty is all around us in some way or someplace.
just saying each country is unique
showing the pictures I am not saying this place is any more special then anywhere else. and you all really know that it isn't
everyone's shots showing their places are beautiful
more especially since we got to know each other. kindof makes it personal

again thank you all very much.

I do know it's a dream for anyone who loves mountains
and these are nothing to what's down south in kerry, tipperary and plenty other area's
also up north.... the mountains of mourne etc etc

all over

Thanks Marie for posting this. I just marvel at the beauty of the landscape in Ireland. It does however remind me a lot of areas in New England, It's just that alot of the areas like you have shown, that are similar here, are rapidly becoming developed. so sad.
