I'm new to this forum and desperately need some help. I did a photoshoot today. When I arrived home, I connected my Dynex external card reader, put my memory card in to download the pictures, and they are GONE!

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Do you have any pearls of advice? Are my pictures gone forever? If so, how the hell did this happen??? I need to protect my work, first and foremost. PLEASE, if anyone has any insight, share your knowledge.

Thank you!
Courtney

There are a few recovery programs out there. I have used PC Inspector before which is a free download. Try googling it.

I've also used ImageRecall before with good results. In most cases the data is not relly "gone" until it is written over.

Good luck - be sure to let us know what happens

Think about NOT using the word "retarded" in a derogatory manner - it insults those who cannot defend themselves - and hurts the ones who love them. Please see: http://www.r-word.org/ (external link)

I hope that by now you've found a good image recovery program and had success with it. If not, you can also search for "image recovery" on this forum and see some other suggestions for programs to try.

If somehow you've not yet recovered the images, don't use the card for anything else, or do anything else to it. Using the card before attempting a recovery may overwrite the images still hidden somewhere on the card.
