I like Mark Cleghorn. The original post was made because I happened to be watching a few of the Lastolite videos and picked up on the overuse of the word. After watching all of the online vids I was a bit bombarded with the word actually, actually.

I posted because I thought it was funny and thought others might enjoy it and get a moment of comic relief. The stutter never phased me and had nothing to do with the post.

And it's not that I'm insensitive to that issue. I just find it interesting that someone would attack and accuse with that as the premise when it had nothing to do with my post.

I think his videos were some of the first I watched when I was curious about using flashes. I found his videos to be informative. It was nice to see him explain a modifier, set it up, shoot while directing his model, then show the resulting image right after.

I'm reviving this thread because of an email I just received. It's funny how people want to see what they want to see when reading posts.

When I started this thread, and then commented along the way, I made mention of the overuse of the word 'actually'. I NEVER commented on or poked fun at Mark Cleghorn's stutter.

Other people that chimed in on this thread also commented on the overuse of actually and none of them made any negative comment about Mark's stutter.

So, today I get an email from someone that was digging around looking for information about Mark Cleghorn and came across this thread. It was apparent that he thought the thread was poking fun at the stutter. This person made a point to let me know that he stutters and then proceeded to insult me and make comments about my gear list being an excuse for lacking creative skill.

Well... if we run with that and assume that I do buy gear to compensate for not having creative skill then I don't see how that has any bearing on Mark or his stutter or use of the work actually.

Actually, I just don't get it.

YEAH!!!! I agree with that guy............. better give me some of your gear :p
