i made the mask for a indy photo project for school. This is my girl helping me out a few nights ago but i wasn't planning on using her or this shot, its more of a feeler/style proof.

let me know what you think.

Very interesting. And I have to admit that the ones where I could see her eye freaked me out.
I like your lighting and processing.

Serious creepiness.
Great composition and processing.

Question:
My son wants to be 'Scarecrow' (from Batman Begins) for Halloween, and I'm having a heck of a time finding burlap material to make his mask. Where did you get yours, and how did you make it?

there is a Jo-ann fabric store about 5 mintues away. It was about 2.99 per yard and the roll was 4ft wide...

4ftx3ft = 2.99 if i recall. I bought a lot more than i thought and only used a fraction of it. its actually not done yet to my standards but i need to get some shots going for my professor.

i just stitched it together by hand with a big ol needle i found in my mother's sewing kit and some heavy duty thread.

the lady suggested i buy some cross stitching floss as it is thicker and makes for more visible embellishments but is no substitute for critical seems.

was a fun easy project...now if only lighting was the same.

there is a youtube video that has you use an old pair of jeans and dye to create a scarecrow mask which is supposed to be more comfortable to wear. I know the burlap makes my allergies go into a frenzy.

Thanks! Jo-Ann's was one place we hadn't gone yet, and I was planning on going there Monday. :D Hopefully they'll have some there.
