Well thanks, everyone. He doesn't pose (unless it's goofy faces and being silly) so I have given up on that. Mainly I was playing with my new camera :) and trying out some of the lenses and settings.....and got lucky to get a couple of shots that he wasn't aware of.

Great shots, good capture and focus. Light is nice and soft too. I like them both.
My oldest son is 5 and also does weird faces only when he sees the camera anywhere hear him. Taking an acceptable photo for his passport was some challenge :)

Love it. :) I love when kiddos are looking down and we can get their eyelashes.... something about eyelashes... they are precious. :) I'm weird, I know.

WOW. Big picture! He's growing up. Losing that little baby look now. Can't believe he's growing up right before us. Still, he's a lot like you. :)

He is. We went on a photo walk this aftenoon, both with a P&S. :)

... I had a surprise for him. We ended up at a house and we went to the door. It was our former neighbors who he adored, especially their daughter, Brittany. They had a wonderful time re-uniting! It had been a year since we last saw them.

Dang, and when you said "cooperation" I thought you'd discovered some deep magic secret. Like chocolate bribery or something.

It's SOOOO frustrating to have a cute kid who refuses to be photographed. Heck, it's frustrating to have an uncute kid who refuses to be photographed!

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?
