Today i picked up my 30d! Im very excited. The package i bought was 30d, two batteries, 512mb cf card, nifty fifty, manual and usb cord. All for 500! And only 5k shots taken! I made the jump from Pentax, and i dont think ill turn back! So i have 200 left over any ideas on what i should purchase? I have a tripod, so no need. And a bag.

Can you use an 8G on a 30D, I know until the upgrade for the 5D you could only go as high as 4G.

Remember, cards can fail, so if a card would fail after you have filled an 8mb card could be more of a disaster than if you were using 2-4's. Just saying.:D

If he needs 4 gigs today, great. When he needs 8-16 tomorrow, the prices will be much cheaper.

I've never used that software myself, but I'm certain that many around here use it to their satisfaction.

Congratulations on the new camera!

I'm not sure what's on what, but I used to like DPP for previews just because it was there.... but I noticed the images looked really soft in the windows. ZoomBrowser renders them a lot smoother and they look a lot better.

Granted these are previews, and I shoot raw and either batch or hand process the files, depending on the client.

Get some transcends off of newegg.com. Save money upfront w/o messing with rebates.

I use DPP all the time for various tasks like quick previews and even quick edits. I use Zoombrowser for quick sorting.
