I went out and played hooky yesterday to do some fishing. I finally got a good dry bag, so the 30D and 70-200mm f/4L made their maiden voyage with me. Paddled WAY offshore to some barrier islands, and the fishing was terrible, so I turned that in to a Photo Op. Found some Pelicans and other goodies. (I know there's a bird section, but I didn't want to make two posts since I had some other shots...)

Headed back inshore to my honeyhole and the fishing was WILD! Caught easily over 150 Seatrout like this guy here... He was cruising the flats. Little did he know after I shot this photo, I casted right out ahead of him and we got to meet face to face about 30 seconds later!

Funny you say that about the kayak photo! I actually got on the ground (which was an incredibly sharp oyster bed) and have a battle scar from that picture. Still keeping it clean to avoid infection. Glad the shot turned out cool though!

Actually this idea was from this week's lesson in my Photography class I am taking at ppsop.com. Great stuff!
