Dec 13, 2010 09:13 | #349 So here's one for people who have shot and shoot there regularly, is a 17mm wide enough for most the shots I'll want to take? I'm toying with the idea of renting a Tokina 11-16 F2.8 for my trip, but not sure I'll need it or use it enough. M50 | RP | 5Dc | 7D

Geoff, not knowing what shots you want to take makes it impossible to answer that question. Some will say its plenty, others, not enough. Personally, I shot almost exclusively with an 85 and loved it (surprisingly so as I thought it might limit me). For those few wide shots I needed, I used the 17-40 and found it more than wide enough. Dec 13, 2010 12:33 | #351 Well, just for general photos mainly. i've never been there. no idea what to see or expect really. I'm thinking that there is probably enough room to shoot and just stick with the 17. I like overall shots, landscape-ish. im sure my wife will want a couple pics of certain things but maybe i just will convince myself out of the 11-16 M50 | RP | 5Dc | 7D

I assume you'd take that anyway since 11-16 would limit you imo. If I am correct in that thinking, consider that you do want to enjoy the park and what travel companions interests are. The less you change glass, the more time you have to enjoy. That was my thought at least and I feel it worked out well. Scott Evans Photography

Enjoying the park is a goal, my wife gets upset with me if I hide behind the camera too much. The 17-50 usually doesnt let me down, so I think I'll be happy with it. Only alittle over a month and I'll be there!! M50 | RP | 5Dc | 7D

I promised myself I'd spend a lot more time enjoying the parks than shooting... and I did, except perhaps at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which of course doesn't belong in this thread. Also, I forgot my battery bag with spare battery & charger for my 5DII - d'oh. I did also bring my G9, so when the 5DII battery died, I just used that. Spaceship Earth from Morocco Twilight at EPCOT Lights, Motors, Action! (Hollywood Studios) (I'm so glad I have boys... I enjoy this stuff much more than anything princess-related) The boys could have spent all day here, where they got to build their own light sabers. We finally took the kids before they got too old and even at 16 and 13, they loved it. Actually leaving tomorrow for Africa to go meet our other sons and reset the clock since they are only 6 and 3 so it looks like another trip to Disney is gonna be in order here someday. Looking forward to seeing your shots Geoff, have a ball! Scott Evans Photography
