All shots taken from my kayak on the 30D and 70-200mm f/4's maiden voyages. Trip was a huge success for photos and ever bigger for fishing. What a great, beautiful day on the water!!!!!!!!

Great series of shots. Those Pelicans are such characters. I have tried shooting from a canoe, and nothing let me within range. They see me coming and off they go. :)

Yeah, you have to approach ssssssslllllllooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyyyyyy..... I actually coasted in to where it took me about 5 minutes to get this close from about 100 yds out. Taking photos all along the way. I was surprised they let me get this close. First time the 200mm was long enough for these kinds of shots for me. They were also fairly high above the water which probably had something to do with it.

Thanks again!
