assignment for class

thought i'd share. it was a product shot assignment for my school, i didnt want the tire in the picture as it was shredded a day before at a local drift event. I thought it came out great, i set the rim on a white paper backdrop, used 2 c stand arms straight out w/clamps and a white diffuser to build a box around it if that makes any sense. and 2 32'' softboxes. i should have took a picture of the setup. oh well.

Great idea keeping the shredded part out of frame

Somwhat glarey for my tastes...the very white background and the white reflected highlights in the outer part of the chrome wheel. I think this points out one of the inherent shortcomings of simply resorting to light boxes for product shots, rather than setting lights and gobos and reflectors and using 'negative lighting'
