Looking at reflections on a sheet of black glass (an old TV table) for an attempt at some still life photos, I decided to ask Rachel (my daughter if you didn't know) to lie on the floor and across the edge of the glass to see if I could get a reflection of her that works.

Here is what we ended up with, and I think it's quite a respectable take on a portrait theme.

interesting idea! I like it.

did you try one exposing for the reflection?... I'd be curious to see how it compares. I imagne it would be a bit washed-out looking, but if you have one, it'll save me setting up for this myself, heh.

I used single shots and let the cameras evaluative metering do the exposure.

Exif here:

Camera Make: Canon
Camera Model: Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
Image Date: 2008:10:04 14:43:08
Flash Used: No
Focal Length: 50.0mm
CCD Width: 4.58mm
Exposure Time: 0.250 s (1/4)
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO equiv: 800
White Balance: Auto
Metering Mode: Matrix
Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto)
