I'm grateful to have a hubby who let's me move all the furniture out of a room and move the "studio" in for a few days. Here are the first, suggestions are appreciated. I have the 430EX off camera, camera left, behind a piece of white board, aimed to the background, and an AB800 at varying powers camera right, in front of the subject. That's all the lighting that is available to me at the moment.

These are hosted on smugmug, I'm sorry if they don't show up for some of you.

You caught some great expressions Di! Lighting looks good except for some grey in the top right corner of the last one.

these are wonderful for your first set of studio shots! you captured some great expressions and looks like she has a lot of personality! I agree with Sevillafox though, you do have a small grey spot on the last one, that is a bit distracting, but other than that...great job! cant wait to see more.

I will try the dodge tool, to be honest, I'm not super familiar with it, so I'll play around! Thanks Katia, I'll check it out. Her hair IS actually really yellow blond (along with being nearly white, lol) so its really tough to balance.

Thanks guys! I'm so excited to play with this stuff. I've got a few more that I'll post in a little while, including my little man.

ETA: Thank you for teaching me about the dodge tool!!!! WAY easier!!

I forgot to mention that all the lighting I've got is a 430EX flash camera left w/a homemade "barndoor" sort of thing and behind her, and an AB800 camera right and in front of her.
