In Lightroom 2, when hovering over my second monitor display which is the grid view, I can't get the mouse scroll wheel to scroll that window. The scroll wheel works everywhere on the first/primary monitor--it can scroll the Catalog/Folders/Collections sidebar on the left, the Quick Develop/Keywording/Metadata/etc. sidebar on the right, and when hovering over a loupe view of an image it scrolls to the next or previou image (turn scroll wheel down or up). But on the 2nd monitor, zilch. Anybody else experiencing this?

Sorry for talking to myself :) but I discovered that if I hover just over the scroll bar in the grid view on the 2nd monitor, the mouse scroll wheel works for scrolling. Heh, if I'm gonna have to position it that precisely anyway I might as well click and drag the scroll bar.

Not running a dual montor setup ATM, so cannot check, but does clicking the window in the second monitor help? Might be that LR needs to "focus" on the window or so...

Nope, clicking doesn't help. I clicked on a thumbnail to put the focus on that window but still nothing.

Might be a bug, might be a feature ;)
I'd report it to Adobe.

Thanks, René, for the feedback. Nobody else is using a 2-monitor setup with Lightroom 2 who can tell me whether the scroll wheel works for them?

You could try Victoria Bampton or In2Photos...

Mouse wheel scrolling...

My first monitor will only scroll over the scroll bars.
Second monitor scrolls anywhere.

On my other PC, both monitors scroll anywhere.

Thanks, everybody for the input. I did a quick experiment and found [what I think is] the problem. I have a 20" and 26" connected to the same video card. 20" on the 1st input (when PC boots up, info comes up on this screen), 26" on 2nd. The way I had been using it to test was once in Vista I set the 26" as primary display and 20" as secondary. So LR2 fires up using the 26" as the primary and 20" as secondary. This setup is when I encounter scroll wheel problems.

So I switched it up. In Vista I setup the 20" as primary and 26" as secondary. Lo and behold, the scroll wheel worked everywhere. Then I switched physical connections--I connected the 26" to the 1st input and 20" to the 2nd, then in Vista setup the 26" as primary and 20" as secondary and the scroll wheel worked again.

In summary, at least for my PC, having the monitor connected to the 1st input on the video card also set in Windows as the primary display fixed the problem. Hope this helps others too.

With TWO video cards, mouse wheel scrolling works on both displays without focus being on the scrollbar.

With ONE video card (two outputs), the secondary display must have focus on the scrollbar to use mouse wheel scrolling.

Perhaps Adobe calls this a *feature".
One they hopefully fix.
