Hey there,

For the wedding photographers in Vancouver, have any of you taken classes for wedding photography? Also, are there any organizations?

I would love to find a mentor to teach me but not sure where to find one either lol.

I've been reading books and online articles on POTN but I really want some formal training.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I'm assuming you are referring to Vancouver BC.
Check this out:

BTW. I'm not a wedding photographer.

I tried to bounce my flash off the ceiling once. Left a mark on the ceiling and broke my flash.

I just finished a course at Focal Point and I was less than thrilled but your mileage may vary depending on instructor and what level you're at. I haven't done courses anywhere else (since college) so I can't recommend any more but the real pro workshops are here:

I've taken Basic and Intermediate photography there.
I thought the instructors were very knowledgeable and easy to learn from.
There may be other schools around that are better but i was not disappointed. I'm trying to decide to either take practical lighting or photoshop course next time.

Thanks for the reply Hoff. I'll be sure to look into those courses with your credibility around here!

I'm still a noobie so I'm sure I'll learn a lot from the courses.

I would love to but I can only do it as funds allow. I'm taking the family to Florida in Dec so I'm going to be poorer than dirt for most of next year.
