And the second when we were heading to Sawyer Glacier... Captured from our mini-suite balcony... It was absolutely tranquil that morning... Shooting the scenery while enjoying some coffee and pastries... I hope you enjoy it as much as I did capturing it!!! Tracy Arm Fjord Sunrise 1D4 + 400L DO IS... ISO 400, f/5.6 @ 1/800sec... ![]() Hi. Canon 5D3, 400mm DO, 2x TC3. Very close elephant, but note all the detail in the skin at f8, neither of the images sharpened. Differences in tone due to what the spot meter read. The colorful bird, an edited and cropped shot is with the 2X TC# and the early morning Heron and family shot is with the 1.4X TC3. That one is unedited other than reducing the size. Right now I have both a 7D & 6D to try and get the best of both worlds for different shooting situations...but results like yours make me wonder....

Right now I have both a 7D & 6D to try and get the best of both worlds for different shooting situations...but results like yours make me wonder.... The bird shot was done with the 7D and the 400mm DO. I mainly kept the 7D attached to the 70-200mm f4 IS and the 400mm DO to the 5DIII with either 1.4 or 2X TC. But now and then I'd switch. This vulture was quite a ways away. so the 896mm FOV of the 7D and 1.4X on the 400mm DO felt better. It was not as sharp as I like, but a number of factors contribute--whether the vehicle was turned off, how difficult my shooting position was--remember, in Kruger you are not allowed outside the vehicle--usually.
