Extinctionjet,
It looks like he/she did it with software as everything in the photo is B&W except the blue sky (which isn't normal for IR photos).

There are a couple of ways of getting false color with an IR photo. One is to set a custom white balance with the IR filter on. Another is adjusting color balance in software.

The picture you linked was from a camera that was converted to take Infrared shots.

There are tutorials online for photoshop infrared like pictures.

Also, the comment says "infared (IR) shot with the red and blue channels swaped "

If that's all he did (no idea, since I don't know what the original looked like), in PS, try this:

Open a channel mixer adjustment layer. Put in Red channel: R= 0; G= 0; B = 100%. Blue channel R= 100%; G= 0; B = 0.

first issue is to get rid of the "All Pink & Orange" pictures. Easiest way (can't remember where I learned this - thanks whoever you were) is to start by taking a shot of green grass with the IR filter on. Set the camera to use this shot as your custom white balance reference shot (see P86 in manual how to do this) Once this is done your IR shots will be much more like what you expect/want and then you can start playing with it in PS or whatever..

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

All the above is correct. Infrared takes a lot of time & patience to get the results you'd like, and you'll do well to search the 'net for various tutorials and workflow instructions. I'm still struggling with it, and I've got a long way to go before I get the results I'd like.

There's a lot more to it than simply swapping the red & blue channels, and as gool mentions, the shot was taken with an IR-modified camera. Very different results between IR-modified cameras and one with an IR filter over the lens.

*EDIT*
This is about the best I've managed so far. Not yet what I'd like, but I keep looking for the right processing.

The sky is indeed blue, but the house colors are far from accurate. In any event, there's no way I'd be able to say exactly what I did to process this one. All I can say for sure was that I swapped the red & blue channels, and played with curves. This isn't an exact science, because each shot is captured differently.

Quite honestly, I'd suggest you search the internet for IR tutorials and workflow suggestions. I've read a lot of them, and they all offer unique information to some degree. Most of all, you're going to have to experiment.

No. You'll want to take a shot of healthy grass under full sunlight, with the IR filter on. Then use that shot to set a custom white balance.

Keep in mind also, that there are better lenses for infrared, as well as different values for the IR filters. For filters, the most common & popular value seems to be 720nm, which is equivalent to the Hoya R72. There's a sticky in the lenses section of this forum which attempts to highlight some of the better lenses to use for IR photos.

and we have another convert... :-)

just remember you'll almost always have to shoot away from the sun as you'll get flare very easily using IR.
