Very enjoyable pics, I like the blur effect too. It looks like it was a fun party....had to be better than the club I was at Saturday night.

WOW those are nice. How were you able to achieve those lighting results? Is it a combination of two shots, one long exposure one short?

Very nice! I need to break out my 1200's. It's been almost a year since I've spun.

Shots are straight out of camera with RAW to JPG conversion plus some sharpening. I was a simple delayed shutter combined with flash to achieve those effects, of course, you'll have to move camera a lot to manually draw those light trails :)

sGu,

Nice shots, and i know how difficult nightlcubs and DJ's can be to shoot, but Ia lso know it can be very rewarding in the lighting and the effects captured.

Please take alook at my Webpage and portfolio, and you will notice that the majority of my work is for nightclubs, DJ's, and other events.

It is always interesting to see other photographer take on the same subject.

What camera and lenses to you use?

So do you shoot in Aperture priority mainly? at what setting?

why are they using pioneer cdj-800's at a technics academy party??!!! the new technics sl-dz1200's are the best bit of kit ever created!!! well at least they also have 1210 mk5's...

Gu - fantastic shots!!! very well done, indeed. i love the zoom and move effect.

flipside - yeah i hear ya... photography tends to make one spin far less. at least i'm teaching my boys, though...

I used 1D MK II + 16-35mm + 580EX, all shot in manual mode, settings vary, some are 2.8, some at 4, between 1 sec and 3 secs exposure and flash exposure compensation, ISO vary from 100 to 400 :)

Cheers mate! :D

I know nothing about spin tables, but they do have normal scratch decks and cdj's weren't getting used much if at all.
