I don't know that I'd exactly call this Urban Life. I took a few shots at my first time out at the fair today. The Orbiter was a 2 second exposure after nightfall. The sign was broken, but I went for the shot knowing that the moving lights behind it would highlight the negative space of the sign. I'd love to entertain any comments or feedback.

Thank you to the 68 people that even viewed this post. I would appreciate any feedback on the things that could be improved with these pix. C&C is welcome. If provided, please include basics of what you did.

engine3 - If it were me I would have gone for the stereotypical ferris wheel picture using a slow shutter speed - I love those types of pictures and I'm kicking myself for having just missed our fair, I was planning on taking a few myself. It looks like in #2 you had the right idea - you have the swirl of the lights, but I would have tried to time it so that I got the "ORBITER" sign lit up also; and the pic is a little tight, I can see part of the ferris wheel to the left, perhaps you could have gotten that in the pic as well. Keep posting and keep asking - that's what I'm doing.

Dan

The Orbiter photo was a one time opportunity. The name was never lit up, that part of the sign was either burnt out or broken. It drew my interest more because the only way to show the name was by using the light in motion, a slow shutter speed and the negative space that the two highlighted. My choice for number one was based on the natural light at the sky. It was casting a unique light. Thanks for responding, and next year I'll try both the Ferris Wheel and Orbiter together. Assuming they use the same layout.
