After seeing the beauty at the Canon demo @ Calumet this weekend, I pulled the trigger last night! Looking through the lens, everyone looked so darn interesting and attractive - even those sales guys! (but not quite enough to buy the lens from them, haha!) Really, these guys ought to be a little more competitive on pricing? Beach Camera again has my business.

I was debating whether I should wait until the new Canon rebate kicks in a few weeks, but as I'm expecting a new born SOON (this week?!), and considering many shops closed for Jewish holidays, I just couldn't risk not having the lens when our kid comes out!! :)

I hate you all for introducing me to all these fancy expensive lenses, and thank you all for keeping me interested in photography!

Roy

X2. I used it at a wedding and it's very sharp. Plus the 1.2 is also a nice feature. Well worth the lens.

The 85L is sweet. Where they might be $30 more on a lens they make up for it in customer service. ;)

I have a business account with Calumet and I just call and stuff shows up the next day. Which is VERY DANGEROUS :lol:

... and it's 2.25 lbs, which makes it even heavier than the 24-70 :)
Enjoy!
