I am a beginner, so this question fits. No response will hurt my feelings, so please give some advise.

The women has beautiful eyes, hair, skin color, lips. I took some snap shots before we do portrait session, and I want to de-emphasize the nose.

What techniques will help me emphasize the good quality, and minimize the issue.

From what I understand, if you use a longer lens and shoot from more of a distance,
you will "de-emphasise" a larger nose.

There are quite a few folks out there who shoot portraits with a 70-200 lens.

Some people hunt with a gun. I use a Canon.

Shooting more straight on is another way.

If neither of those methods prove satisfactory, there's also Photoshop. Digital nose jobs can look *quite* convincing.

shoot with a tele to compress facial features and get good background blur.

If you're shooting with the kit 18-55, head to the 55 (zoomed) end of the range.

If you have a 'longer' lens, like the 70-300, 75-300, etc, you'll have an easier time.

The reason is that 'wide' angles accentuate noses.

Some Canon bodies, some zooms, and a cheap prime. A flash, some monolights, and the mess of crap that goes with all of it. Does that clear everything up?
