Last Thursday, my buddy who owns a Corvette got together with some of his other Corvette buddies and rented out the road course. It was the first time I got to use my XTi extensively and on top of that, my first time ever taking panning photos. For the most part, it was pretty hit or miss.

From the website:

Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a 1.8 mile, 10 turn road racing course located 35 miles west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hallett has over 80 feet of elevation change and is considered Technically Difficult.

(I ran a personal best time of 1 min 54.442 secs with my 2002 Volvo S60 T5. A "perfect run" is around 1 min 30 secs.)

I appreciate it; one of my former roommates had one, I'll pass the pictures along to him.
I would say you've got a pretty good grasp with the panning idea.
