Just a quick question. I've always just upgraded DPP from the Canon update website but since my 50D arrives today, can the Canon software from the CD be installed over the existing version on my computer or does it need uninstalling first?

I did uninstall mine first but don't think it's necessary. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

If you need/want all the other programs/drivers etc. then yes, just install from the CD over what you have, this should pick up any preferences you may have set as well.
