I have always used the Jasic release of Paint Shop Pro, and I am very familiar with it. Fits like an old shoe. But when old shoes are beyond useful life, it becomes time for an update. I am looking at all options, but I am interested in Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate.

It claims to have support for 250 different camera RAW formats, and many of the other features I want/need. Since I am now starting to shoot in RAW (350D currently, but hopefully a 5D MKII soon), I am interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with this software, especially as it compares to other standard tools/programs. I am also concerned that the RAW format support may be limited or only nominal.

Can anyone supply some experiences??

Thanks in advance!

Gordie

While I have no experience with the new offerings, I have heard favorable comments & reviews of it.

I'm like you, Gordie: I have the old JASC PSP 7.04, giving up on later versions when it absolutely required a version of Internet Explorer-something to install.

I just got Pant Shop Pro Photo X2, and it's great. Lot's of new features, and really easy to use. RAW support works great. Can't beat the price either.

Glad to hear that the RAW support works great in X2. I have PSP X & the RAW support wasn't so hot. It's a very good program & does virtually everything I need to do and the improved RAW feature is good news.

Great software, I use it most of the time.

Photoshop does have advantages in many areas, so using both is the best way.
