I suppose you're going to tell us how you love the way the beauty dish light is feathered around her face.

This is Jessica from our shoot the other day. We were hoping for a nice day but instead we got an unseasonably cold and windy day. This is exactly why I always have my beauty dish with me. The dish was the only modifier that I could use in that kind of wind and we ended up having a great day.

Here are some samples from that shoot. All shot with the Speedotron 22" beauty dish and maxi white translucent deflector.

You know what, Tharaka? I wouldn't worry about that in this instance. Her hair is affected by the light the same way the dress is... you don't see the absolute edge; you know it's her dress, you know it's her hair, but they aren't commanding the same attention as her face.

I think it's a fine shot.

I'm seeing specular highlights but I don't see highlights that are clipping and there's plenty of detail. There's nothing wrong with the more specular highlights but if you're finding that you don't like them then the highly specular, high contrast light of a beauty dish is not the tool for the job. :D
