Thanks Manav. This was shot back at 30/09/12 2:35pm, sun was still high.
I used my 2 stop ND, with 4.5 on the Ranger.
5D3
f/2.5
1/500sec (hypersync)
ISO100

some links for you taken with a phone camera to give an idea of how ambient was like.

Thanks for the info, Chester. I love your work. I, too, own a ranger and really want to buy a BD but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I love that you're consistently milking Hypersync for what it's worth. Just curious... why are you blending the ND and Hypersync. I kind of figured the whole reasoning behind Hypersync is/was to eliminate the need for ND filters altogether, no? Results not consistent enough with HS to gamble with shutter speeds over 1/500?

Thanks for the kind words Ryan.

I use the ND's depending on the camera i use also.

My 1Ds3 can hypersynce all the way to 1/8000 clean of banding, but the 5D3 is clean to 1/2000, you get very slight banding past this speed. I still have to play around with the PW settings.

This is where I use the ND, with the extra -2 stops it can help me in a situation when i cant hypersync over 1/2000 to 1/8000 on the 5D3. I leave the ND on the lens most of the time during shoots.

DUDE! You've GOT to remind your subjects to take their phones out of their pockets. Every since someone critiqued me on it, it's become the most distracting thing when it's not done. Great work though.

These were taken using a Kacey 22" with a double speedlight bracket (580EX and 430EXII) triggered by Phottix Odin:

These look really nice. Those poses and expressions are great and the compositions interesting. However, for me ,there is a heavy green cast to all of them. Perhaps go recheck the WB and tint on them. :D

What kind of ND filter do you use?

Thanks Shane for the tip re: white balance. I agree, the photos were taken under a canopy of very green trees to filter the strong midday sun so there is a lot of green ambient light coming through. I'll pass this on to my wife who will be doing the final PP on these.
Cheers, Steve

Looks your shutter speed is higher than your body's x-sync here.
