When you say your version has gone cuckoo, what do you mean exactly? Tools not working properly, doing funny things or won't run at all? If it runs, but has some weird things going on, try deleting the Photoshop Prefs file. If you're running windows it should be found under Documents and Settings/*your logon id*/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop Settings (or something close). Delete the Photoshop Prefs file. When you start Photoshop it will create a new prefs file. You'll have to reset your preferences (Control + K), but the program may work like new again and save your cash for something else.

Hi thanks for you reply I have tried re booting it but to no avail,It does silly things like a classic is when you resize a phots for web applications specfy the size and save it,you check on its size and it's completely different!!
I do it again and yes it gives another completely different size.A friend of mine had a go tonight and was driven crackers by it,he is of the opinion that it has gone ga ga (like me)He suggested exactly what you said tried it and then mit would not work at all.So me now resigned to buy a new one But where as I will not buy something that I dont know enough about on the net.Fair enough if it was a car part no problem I am a mechanic or radio control gear computer stuff no way me want to see preson who sells me it so if it faulty I can go back and talk to them or even shout!!!

I had a memory issue with PSCS3 recently. I ended up un-installing PS and re-installing it. All the problems are now gone and it's working fine. It seems my problems started when I upgraded to service pack 3

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
