To any who could give advise,
I am currently looking to buy a camera and lens and have been looking @ the canon 40D. Could anyone give advise on the best bet for capturing indoor volleyball action without blurring? The lighting is typical high school gym lighting.
Thanks for any help

The 40D or the newer 50D would be as good as you can get for a mid-price Canon DSLR (better but more expensive would be the 1D Mk III).
As far as lenses go, you need a "fast" lens that will enable you to get a fast shutter speed in low light. The two "most recommended" Canon lenses for low-light action are the EF 85mm f/1.8 and the EF 70-200mm f/2.8.
A lot depends on your budget, of course, but if you go cheap on lenses you will, simply, miss a whole lot of your shots.
