Cassie goes in for surgery

Here's my little girl "Cassie." She went in for cruciate ligament surgery this morning. She was just diagnosed with Addison's disease a couple of months before the injury. We considered putting her down but just couldn't do it. She was worth more to me than my 70-200L so that had to go. See that discussion here. Hopefully, she'll come home tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind words. The surgery went well and the vet says we can pick her up this afternoon. I'll post a photo of her shaved hindquarter when she gets home.

Best wishes for Cassie. Where did you end up having the surgery done. And, for what it's worth, I would have done the same for any of my furry children.

Well, here she is. She's still a bit loopy from the pain patch but other than that, she's fine. You can see in this photo that she is not using that leg at all. (duh! no wonder <G> We're glad to have her home though.
Julie; the surgery was done at a local animal hospital called Nagolas Ark. Great place and price was no worse than any of the others.

Great news. Now for the recovery, it sounds like she's in totally good hands.

I would mortgage my house (again!) to pay for something my babies needed, so I understand.

Yes, barbie, she's doing much better. The vet bound up the bandage tighter because he doesn't want her walking in it at all right now so she's a bit uncomfortable, but still gets around. Hopefully, the bandage will come off when we take her back on Wednesday. If so, I'll post another shot, without the bandage.
