Hmmm, sounds like it's quite an old card as I haven't seen one of those around for a while. It may have become corrupted, in which case it could be worth running an image recovery program to see what you can get off it, then chuck it in the bin and get a newer card (4Gb cards are dirt cheap nowadays).

I believe the old microdrives were less reliable than modern solid state CF cards.

I have tried many different micro-drives over the years and have had issues with all of them. Lets face if they are just tiny hard drives that have moving parts, and because of those moving parts they are more susceptible to damage from shock. They take more power then solid state memory cards. With the cost of Solid State Cards these days I would retire any Micro Drives in a hurry.

With that said if the drive still spins there is a good chance you can get your data recovered. The problem is that can be quite costly. You can do a search online and see if you can find some trial data recovery programs. Unfortunately not many companies put these apps out for trial. I have one that I've had tremendous luck with but paid an insane amount of money for years ago. Thankfully the company keeps allowing me to update to newer versions for little more.
