As I'm waiting for my 85mm 1.2L to arrive, I also decided to get a new focusing screen for my 1Ds Mk II: Ec-N. I've heard how "standard" focusing screens can only "see" down to about f/2.5. I figure additional 1/2 stop clarity with Ec-N would help me see things better, especially with very large aperture lens like this. It will be here in the next few days. I would love to hear some of the experiences you've had with Ec-N. Do you think it made any difference? Thanks.

Roy

Thread resurrection. I got a EC-N screen for my 1Ds, and I love it. Far more clarity, much brighter. I just had to make sure my camera knew what I was using, in order to meter correctly.
