Flash upgrade? 380EX to 550EX

Would it be worth upgrading? What do I gain in the 550 over the 380?

I am assuming more output power, and swivel capability.

Control too. I have yet to figure out if it's possible to actually control the 380EX.

Now I wouldn't jump too far ahead if I were you. That 550EX is 3 years newer than the 380EX.

Looks like you'll gain a bit. Including some weight. I'd do it.

the swivel is worth it alone imo

I use a 550EX on my 2nd camera, they work well. I'd suggest though you go to a 430, it's just generally more useful, charges faster, unless you need master functionality or want to use a battery pack. The 550 makes a great slave on a light stand, with a battery pack, but i'm about to replace mine as a working flash. If I found a good deal on a 550EX i'd snap it up as a slave though, if anyone wants to sell me one...
