In the official 5D Mark II thread, there's a lot of discussion going on about CF cards. Going to get one myself, and so I'm interested in what kind of card I'll need for it.
The question is...is the transfer speed on the Extreme III cards enough?

Judging by the specs Canon's publishing for buffer capacity, the answer's a resounding "It Depends". You'll be able to take a substantially larger burst of JPEG photos with an UDMA card like the Extreme IV, but there's much less gain if you're shooting RAW based on Canon's numbers. It'll be interesting to see what Rob Galbraith's tests show though. Then too, shooting JPEG a burst of 78 may be plenty.
