Just wondering if any G9 owners have also bought the G10 and compared the 2. I have a G9 which I love  and was wondering if it was worth my $$ to upgrade to the G10. I rarely shoot at higher than ISO 80 and if it's dark I use support. I hope the G10 AF would be as quick if not quicker and that the IS worked as well as the G9's.

I know that because of the different focal lengths it sorta like comparing apples and oranges... but if the image quality was really that much better on the G10 I might switch. Is there anything the G9 had that's missing on the G10?

Thanks.

I really enjoy my G9 so I'm going to keep it and pass on the G10. I've only had mine since January and I'm still learning all of the things that you can do with it but so far I am very happy with the quality of the pictures that I get from it. I would like to get some lenses for it, though, and that will be my next purchase. I'm fairly new to digital photography and I find that the G9 is easy enough for a beginner to use but also it takes really nice pictures.

Yeah...I even posted that I would do a side by side...forget it...

I had the G10 for a day and sold the G9 yesterday......to a member here...it's a great camera but I can't see having both....so I bought a LX3 today...now I have something to do a comparison with.........will do....

The G10 is really a great image making camera.......

Cheers, Don

I am torn because I WAS going to sell my Hasselbladd system and get a 5D MII and a 24-70 L... but NOTHING high end is selling right now. People are scared to death. :(

If there is a significant improvement in IQ over the G9 I might jump on a G10 and wait until some of fear dissipates in a few months or a year and then sell my Hassi system.

Hey Streetshooter, get us some good comparisons soon, please.

Maybe a nice scenic, an interior low light 400 and 800 ISO and then something kind of edgy of your bike showing off shiny paint and metal Hokay?

Oh and while your at it, I'd like :-).............LOL

I'm keeping my G9 because the longer focal length is more important to me than the wider end. I shoot a lot of aircraft photos and the G10 just won't quite get there. I sometimes even wish the G9 would go longer without an attachment.

Here is a link to a ride we did today for Pat McDonald....there were over 1000 bikes...

ok...I used the G10 only cause it's better while riding...most of the riding shots were at about 60-70mph.....I think I was at 1/200 and couldn't change to a faster speed...

Th IQ is better than the G9 (sorry)....the lens is far better..(sorry again)...I ain't pushing and cameras...but I have been doing this for over 45 years and the lens is the business end.......the G10 has it....It's actually better than the LX3....and that's a Leica...

on my webshots page there are other albums and there you can find the LX3...G9..
D300....Evolt 510...5D and a few others...but all in all..the G10 cuts it best...
