How can I improve the composition and exposure of this picture?

Thanks!

Well, I'm just an amateur, but I would do a few things. First, try and make sure your subject is completely in or out of the shadows. Second, look for a less distracting background. Third, watch your horizons to make sure their level (or fix in pp). And lastly, maybe try not to cut off the tip of the birds tail. Keep shooting!

No, I think there were just too many distracting elements-but since the pic is now gone I can't be sure...
