OMG now I'm put off from buying the Canon 5D Mk II... and it's NOT because of the 9 point AF.

Canon puts "EOS 5D Mark II" on EOS 5D Mark II neckstrap. Who does this remind me off? Noink  who enjoys putting their users in danger of getting mugged and stuff.

Saw this pic (external link) from here (external link).

[Sarcasm]Nice move Canon, nice move[/sarcasm]. WTF is wrong with their design team recently? First 1D III AF problems, 1Ds tilting viewfinders and now this?!

Dude... if they can see your neckstrap they can see your camera, most likely. Saying "Canon" is just as bad as saing 5D Mark II. You think that muggers keep up with the latest camera releases? Not likely. Canon means just as much if not more than a number and a letter.

Agreed - it's only a neckstrap. My 50D arrived with a neckstrap that had 50D on it. I prefer an Optech strap anyway so never put the Canon one on.

Yep, $20 neck strap. Definitely a far, far bigger problem than the 1DMkIII AF problem. I'm definitely going back to disposable cameras if they are going to do that with the neck strap.

Ooh, I'll also say... I really like my Domke gripper neckstraps - far superior than any of the Canon ones if you primarily use them as wrist straps :D $17 fix!

i have a third party neckstrap too...the one included with most dslrs are pretty useless in terms of comfort if you have anything more than a light kit lens...

Just imagine if Canon stopped including a neck strap with the camera.

WOW!
