OMG now I'm put off from buying the Canon 5D Mk II... and it's NOT because of the 9 point AF.

Canon puts "EOS 5D Mark II" on EOS 5D Mark II neckstrap. Who does this remind me off? Noink  who enjoys putting their users in danger of getting mugged and stuff.

Saw this pic (external link) from here (external link).

[Sarcasm]Nice move Canon, nice move[/sarcasm]. WTF is wrong with their design team recently? First 1D III AF problems, 1Ds tilting viewfinders and now this?!

Solutions:
1 - here (external link)
2 - here (external link)

However an even simplerer tholuthion ith to do what I do _ dance a jig with a pig on my head_ oh no not that (sorry was thinking of thumpthin'e elthe) -
Just turn the strap over!

this is what I do anyway as I wear the camura strap under mon shouldie and need to swing it back and forth - thus the slippery wrong side is much morer usefullerer than the right side wot sticks and is a right pain,, yearrrr!

[Says "Happy the laughing lisping pirate"]

When I get the 5D MkII I think after seeing this thread I will use my new 5D MkII strap to hold a "ringer" camera, like maybe my old 35mm film rebel.
I will keep the 5D on my crappy sweatstained dirty 30D strap that I use now. That way when a robber sees that "5dMkII" logo and I do get mugged, (which certainly will happen), the joke is on them when they take my lousy old 35mm camera!!!;)
(and I will make sure to get HD video of them fleeing the scene with my 5d MkII!...don't worry I'll post it on this thread!)

BTW this irresponsible marketing on the part of Canon has to stop! it's like they want me to get mugged so I'll have to buy a new camera! Nice plan guys, thankfully this thread will save me from going out like that!
So glad I saw this thread. I needed a laugh today!

Hmmm. Maybe Canon should produce the 5D-2 in silver. That way muggers might mistake it for an XT and figure it's not worth the bother. They could charge a premium for its theft-deterrent benefits

IMO Canon neck straps are terrible and I dont use them anyway, so I see little reason for concern. POTN neck strap FTW!!!

Just put a nikon strap on there and nobody will steal it...ha..ha.

I think the Nikon users think the same thing.

Sorry for the bad picture quality. :)
