These were taken with my Canon XTi and a (rented) 50mm f1.2 lens. Critique is welcome!

the first two needs to work on the exposure

Wellll I like the first one the way it is for some reason. But I fixed the 2nd:

great shots! I love the use of the low dof. it really isolates your subject from the bg. oh and I'm jealous of the cookie icecream sandwich...was just thinking about them the other day :-P I want one! did i mention nice shots? I like the last two.

I'll agree that the harsh sunlight doesn't help the first 6, but 8 works, and 7 is a real keeper - all that life in the background, all the colors, but the subject nicely isolated by the shallow DOF.

They all look like snapshots to me, except #8. That's a very nice portrait composition.
