can't believe no one has commented. you've done a wonderful job of taking what could be a blah image and turning it into something pretty special. well done. oh yeah, crop the right side just a fuzz, it seems a little unbalanced but that's just my opinion and the only thing I'd change.

thank you for the comments. Riding along that day it was one of those "wow this would be a cool shot" moments. I got it home and went..."not so much"

ultimately, very happy with the end product. I'll try the crop and see how that looks too.

Thanks again.

Shawn

How much of that is riding out of a fog bank vs post production?

Most of it is Fog, here is the original. honestly wouldn't know how to imitate fog PP.

BTW I did not clone out the powerlines they just became less apparent in PP.

then as originally posted

then attached is the cropped version as suggested earlier

Crop no good, the originally posted version has a nice "leading lines" effect, leading your eye from back left to the light.

As a cyclist myself, I like the original better. It gives me the feeling of: "I wish I was in that pack !!" Riding into a big void gives me the willies. :)

The crop didn't do much for me and the amount was arbitrary because as dekalbSTEEL said, the lines in the first really drew your eye in so the crop was hard for me to visualize a good spot. There might have been a better place crop than I did, I just couldn't see it.

As for the color version, it just seemed flat and unimpressive to me. I played with ways to make it a little more impressive and honestly were it not for Lightroom, I prob couldn't recreate it.

I am thinking about framing it, it will be really only my first or second "keeper" of many many photos. The other was from a trip to Alaska where anybody can take good pictures.
Thanks for the comments.
