I have a 450D with EF-S 17-85 lens - i need more tele capabilities
I am wondering should I buy the EF 70-300 (and deal with lens swap) or replace my 17-85 with 18-200 ?
Thx for the advice

i think the main thing depends on what you think about swapping lenses...it seems like some don't like it...i kind of enjoy it to be honest...it kind of sucks when going out and having to carry the lenses...but that's why i've got a small bag that allows me to carry the camera, and 2/3 other lenses at once...

I've got a new one for sale. It was part of a kit. I only used it to test and put photos up here on the boards. $675 includes Canon Hood, UV filter and shipping.

that's a nice $200 payment for just testing a lens out...

o.p....you can buy the lens off of ebay, thru the live.com cashback, 20% now, was 30% before...and end up final price being 543...it takes 60 days to get your cashback...but not bad

The 18-200 IS looks like a great travel lens, and samples I have seen suggest the image quality is pretty darn good. I'd certainly like one, but I think they are overpriced right now. I'll wait till the market is flooded with ex kit lenses...
