Here's an example, and this was spawned from a discussion on another forum.

ZOMG LOOK A CHEAP 40D FROM NY:
http://cgi.ebay.com …y=31388&_trksid=p3907.m29 (external link)

It took a few days for the seller to get back, but this is a refurbished body. The seller does not state that it is a refurb, but he does list:

Condition: --

So he doesn't specify the condition. I emailed and asked if it was a new USA body, and if he could provide the serial number of the item in auction so that I could verify with Canon USA. He only replied that it was a refurb.

Just an informative post to ask the right questions before you commit to buying!

Well I did a search on the text before the first post, maybe it's in the image now? Either way, just buyer beware on ebay, especially with the cash now for BUY IT NOW.

Its not in the image, its in the body (which you can't edit after the auction started, so it must have been there from the start).

It says very clearly:
"Canon Factory Refurbished With 90-Day Warranty"

Shooting with the Canon 5D & Nikon D300... and now the 20D!

It didn't before and you CAN edit your listing before a bid on ebay.

Regardless, make sure you ask the right questions, especially with the microsoft cash back! Just some words of wisdom, cheers!

The only revisions that were made to the listing have been the price and the quantity. If that text was added at any point after the start, the history would say the description was revised.
