I went to Cuba a few days ago, I saw this guy playing the guitar and thought it would be a excellent shot.

As a dyed-in-the-wool American, I am prohibited by law from making complimentary comments on anything Cuban.

But I kid. I kid. 8)

I like the photo although a tighter shot would have highlighted his mischievous expression. Lots of stories in that face, I suspect.

I really like this shot, but feel it could have been even better if he were looking at the guitar or away from the camera to give a more "candid" shot. Maybe you purposely wanted it this way?

Well, it still is a really great photo!

I like the subject. You recognized a good shot but I think there is too much blank wall in the picture. I would have liked it better if he were sitting in front of the wall. His upper body and guitar are underexposed. The white pants probably caused this.

I tried to get a candid shot but he noticed me before I could. Then he wouldn't pretend like he didn't see me because he didn't understand english.

About the wall, I for soem reason liked the look of the wall and the window to the right side of it.

Thanks for the comments,
Mike

I like the original better. I think the crop works great as a portrait, but you lose the reflection of the guitarist and palm tree in the window. Maybe compromise by cropping to an odd size, like square or one of the large format aspect ratios.

I like rg-tom's crop quite a bit better. Nice capture for sure...you caught a great look on his face, but that big, bland pink wall is screaming at me.

Jason - I use Canon and stuff

I do agree it does look better with it cropped, but for some reason I liked the wall with the window on it.

I think they are both great. Thanks for posting Rg-Tom.
