Looks like a nice place! I haven't seen many pictures from Cuba, and the ones I have seen all seem to include old cars like the one you shot.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Cuba has some really really old cars there, and surprisingly enough, they are all in pretty good condition.

Mike,
Nice photos that bring some good memories.
I particularly like #5. It could be better if you resize them to 800 pixels wide.
I spent my honeymoon in Cuba, and fell in love with that island. Unfortunatly I was more into filming then.
Your shots seem to be from Varadero.
Do you have any from Havana or Matanzas? There's some breathtaking landscapes in Matanzas, and also some idilyc small islands which I think they call "cayos". I went to some in a boat and to my surprise they allowed us to swim in the middle of the ocean with the dolphins. Unforgetable.
Please post some more if you have any.

edited-the "cayos" were not in Matanzas, he...

Cheers,
Jaime

There ok, but do they always have to have a focal point?

I didn't get a chance to go to Havana, I've never heard of Matanzas before though.

Frank are you asking if pictures have to have a focal point? or do all my pictures have to have one?

Thanks,
Mike

Maybe I should rephrase. It's just a general question. Is it always necessary for a focal point to be achieved in a photograph? Can a photograph be a great photograph without a focal point? And if so under what circumstances?
