Aperture showing different exposure???

I have had this for awhile and am getting a bit frustrated so perhaps you guy & gals can help.

When I import into aperture, the histogram is different than what is on the camera for the shot. It seems to be almost one full stop darker that the actual exposure once imported.

I also notice that as the images are imported, they initially look bright and correct, but then the preview quickly changes to a darker version.

I am certain I have a profile wrong somewhere in Aperture, but I can not find it.....any help would be most appreciated.

Not sure on Aperture, bu I assume it works like LR in this respect: The initial preview is the built in jpg. The changed preview is the "Aperture interpretation".
I assume you can alter the Aperture "defaults" to get the two closer together.

Yep. That's why I have my contrast setting to the lowest level on my camera setting, as I shoot RAW it offers a 'truer' representation of the DR I can achieve in Lr after processing.
