thanks for the comments! The top one was an hdr. After I create the hdr I layer some of the original exposures on top and mask in areas that needed more attention. Then I did some dodging and burning too.

This HDR sounds interesting, how , where can I learn more about this ?
Im guessing you take several pictures at different exposures and then overlay them one on top of the other or something like that??

Here is the Photomatix website where you can download a fully working trial version that never wears out, but adds a watermark to certain renders. Give it a try. The site also has links to tutorials and other sites.

Basically, I got started with the HDR's by following This tutorial. That guy really knows what he's doing. I create the HDR in photomatix using a couple of different exposures. Maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but they always come out looking a little to crazy/overdone. So then in photoshop I generally layer the +1 and -1 exposures on top of the HDR that I created, and mask in parts of those exposures onto the existing HDR. Sometimes I get carried away, but the first image probably took about an hour to do, start to finish. Most of the time I dont bother processing this way because it takes so long.
