This B-17 travels throughout the country giving rides (~$430:() and tours. Many have probably seen it already. The day was cloudy and it had been raining...
The last was taken right before take-off.

Giving the conditions very nice. I love the second one, I'd pay to hitch a ride. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pics. #2 could definitely be mistaken for a "period" picture.

Even in the rain, very nice. My favorite plane. Nice PP on it. Getting a ride is something to do on my short 'to do' list :D

Especially if this is true :D. Is it because it's a charity donation?

Nice pictures of a gorgeous airplane, I particularly like your second one.

I was fortunate enough to see Liberty Belle this summer when she came over to visit the UK and joined in at the Flying Legends airshow, alongside two other B-17s (Pink Lady from France and the UK based Sally B).

I had really wanted to get a shot of all three flying together, sadly though Sally B had one engine out due to two earlier engine failures this year. Got plenty of shots of the three of them sat on the apron together though, as well as Liberty Belle and Pink Lady in flight together. There is a distinct possibility that, due to the wonders of Photoshop, Sally B will be joining them at some point - I have many, many shots of her in flight, having seen her at lots of airshows so should have no problem finding an image that will blend in nicely.

I did ask about getting a ride in her (actually beg and grovel are probably more appropriate words) and would have been more than happy to stump up the cash. Unfortunately, the regulations over here meant that she wasn't able to take paying passengers up, so it wasn't an option.

Most of the major air museums / flying collections are run as "Non Profit" organizations...

#2 is really cool - burn the edges and add a few streaks and some grain and a touch of a sepia tint = legit vintage photo :-)
