I feel like there is a way to straighten a photo that was taken out of level. I am using the Digital Photo Professional because I can't figure out how to use the Elements 6.

I don't think DPP has a straighten tool. I think all you can do is rotate 90 degrees.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Elements should have a ruler tool. If so, use it to trace a horizontal or vertical line to adjust the photo with and then go to edit/image > rotate canvas > arbitrary. PS should have the default angle already selected. Minor cropping will be required.

Picasa3 has a great straighten tool and is free. DPP doesn't unfortunately.

I appreciate the responses. I was able to figure out how to use the Elements program enough to open and straighten a couple of photos. I find the DPP easier to navigate so I haven't put enough effort into learning Elements.

You can straighten images with the crop tool. Here's a tutorial:

Thanks for the tutorial. That is very good. Is there more tutorials for Elements?

How do you straighten the picture?

Usually I grab one end while my lumberjack friend grabs the other end. Then we twist.

OK more seriously, I do it in Lightroom if ultimate straightness is critical. It's not possible in DPP. Shame on Canon for that.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)
