I was invited to the local Radio control field yesterday to photograph a rather large scale model of a Vickers F.B.5 which was scratch built by Ray Williams of Utica N.Y. and he brought it to our area to do some demonstration flights. Not only is it impressive but he is now scratch building a working scale engine for it too. The full album can be found here.

Nice shots. Looks like a fun and expensive "toy"

No kidding, think of the support equipment, like trailor.

Outstanding model. You got some real nice flying shots too.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Thanks. If you look at the 3rd photo in the album you can see the trailer (in the background) that he brought the plane in, plus there was one standard sized Yak 54. They came to get me after he had assembled it, and that took almost 2 hours, but I'm sure that there were delays due to questions being asked during that time. I can't imagine how many hours it took to build, nor how many the engine will take, but he has built one previously and there are photos at his web site. He obviously has skill & passion, and seemed very happy that everyone took such an interest in asking questions, which he was fully prepared to answer in the friendliest of ways.

Very nice. I'd like to see that Vickers flying in person. :D
